Pam Monk was born in London, but has spent most of her life in Brighton.
She came to painting at the age of forty three when her family became more independent, and has continued painting ever since.
A founder member of Dupont Art Club, which is based in Hove, she stlll attends life sessions every week, and exhibits with them every year.
She also exhibits with Brighton and Hove Arts Council in the ongoing exhibition at the Rendezvous Cafe in Duke Street in Brighton.
In the past she has also had work shown in the Brighton Open Exhibition.
Apart from a short course of classes with Brighton City College of further education, at the end of which she gained an A level in art, and also passed an A level in art history, she is largely self taught.
